Garden Chair Cushions

The choice of garden chair cushions can drastically change the look and feel of your out door living space, as well as the comfort that you get when relaxing there.

When looking to purchase new or replacement garden chair cushions take the time to get the correct fit for your chair. This may seem glaringly obvious, but many makes and styles of garden chair have very subtle differences in their measurements.

green garden chair cushionThe square single pad garden chair cushion is relatively easy to measure for, requiring just the width and the length, with the addition of your choice of thickness.

Do make sure that the seat cushion is square, even a slight difference can lead to difficulties fitting, and an over, or under size garden chair cushion can spoil the comfort of the chair.

blue double garden chair cushionA double garden chair cushion, one with both seat pad and back needs a few more measurements to get the right fit. Take two width measurements of the seat pad cushion, one at the front and one at the back.

This will indicate any narrowing in the design. The same needs to be done with the back of the chair cushion, together with the length of the  seat pad and the height of the back cushion, this should give you  the ideal size needed.

D shaped garden chair cushionOccasionally ‘D’ shaped garden chair cushions are needed. these are usually used on more formal out door dinning chairs.
To get the right size for this type of garden chair cushion, measure the front width, as well as the width where the curve of the ‘D’ shaping starts. The length should be measured  down the center of the garden chair cushion, to its longest point.

Always take note of where the cushion anchor points are, these are usually small material ties or Velcro strips, their is nothing worse than a loose, badly fitting garden chair cushion that slowly slides from under you whilst you sit and relax.
